Lizzie, The Clem has a lovely ride quality, nice low gearing, and I finally have Soma Oxford bars that suit me fine. In the end, it's what I can't change: it's too long and too heavy for a touring bike, my intended use. I cannot lift it vertically on an Amtrak rack, etc.
You have expressed high praises for the Clem-L. Is there anything that changed your mind about the ride/comfort quality of this bicycle? I have a Riv Sam H. and it has been an exceptional bicycle. My wife is considering a Clem-L and just wondered if anything in particular made your reconsider the merits of this bicycle.
See comments above. The ride quality is exceptional. I lightened the stock build by swapping tires and handlebars, but it wasn't light enough for me and was difficult to lift onto our bike rack. Nothing I can do about it's length!
So sad to read that you're selling your lovely Clementine! Could you not, in the end, get her to fit/suit you?
