Broken Spoke to Repair a Tube?
It was warm. I was thirsty. I had a slow leak in my rear tire. I couldn't think of a better way to relax and delve into the mysteries and mechanics of finding a minute puncture hole. Broken Spoke Pale Ale did the trick, along with chips and guacamole. A Drink, quasi dinner, time outside, and the tube is patched, ready for another bike commute.

I like your style Annie....
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I now have the image of you using guacamole in a tubeless tire...
ReplyDeleteI reread what I'd written and I can see how you'd think I repaired the tube with guacamole! Ha, think I'll leave it as is though. A little humor goes a long ways...
DeleteI find I need that kind of lubricant -I prefer the IPA version- to do most any bike work. Well played my friend. Tell me what does warm weather feel like? I went to a baseball game on Monday, it was 48 degrees out...I could see my breath.
ReplyDeleteFinding a small puncture always feels like a victory. It means not having a second puncture from the same problem.
ReplyDeleteNow I am in Tucson, AZ full time, my post ride ale tastes even better than ever.
Thought maybe you poured the beer on the tube to find the leak :-)
ReplyDeleteI was rather cryptic, as it turns out but it made for some great comments! for shame Randy, wasting expensive beer? No way! My motto: better to imbibe and ease the tedious task.
DeleteI too had visions of you using the ale to find the hole, and then somehow stuffing the tube with chips and guacamole. And I have to confess that being very English and not very adventurous with food I had to google guacamole.....
